Ranger Creek Tea Tapper
08-22-2012
Summertime is in full bloom, and while the rest of the country cools off with some fancy cocktails, us whisky votarists are soothed by whisky: be it neat, on the rocks, or as a base to fancy cocktails. In this case, the powerful concoction is guaranteed to “taste” through the most intense ingredients.
Here comes a handy suggestion for the nice refresher from our WoW Austin Expo presenter, Texas’s own Ranger Creek distillery. These gents sure know the best way to cool down during a summer scorcher.

Ranger Creek Tea Tapper
2 ounces sweet tea
¾ ounce pomegranate juice
1-½ ounces Ranger Creek .36 Texas Bourbon
1 slice lemon
1 slice orange

Preparation
Fill an old fashioned glass ¾ of the way to the top with ice. Combine with the sweet tea, pomegranate juice, and Bourbon, and stir. Rim glass with lemon, and garnish with orange slice.

Hint: Scale the recipe up to pitcher-size by multiplying all of the liquid quantities by five.

If we combine the fun, summertime whisky drinking with the excitement of a long-anticipated vacation, we’ll reap a “dream vacation.” A WoW colleague recently shared her perfect getaway: a visit to a Scotch distillery. For a more profound experience and long lasting memories--as a good whisky finish--take your own trip this summer!
