VIP access includes 45 Minute early access from 6:30PM-7:15PM where attendees can taste exclusive expressions and will have priority access to sign up for Masterclasses.

Masterclasses are a 30–45-minute intimate, guided educational experience with brands and whisky personalities. Each masterclass includes a tasting of 3-4 expressions. You may choose one class with your paid ticket to Whiskies of the World. If reserving a class for more than one person, please reserve one ticket in each person’s name.

There is a $5 registration fee to guarantee you a seat in the class. However, you still must show up on time. Please arrive 5 minutes before class starts.

PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST HAVE A TICKET TO WHISKIES OF THE WORLD IN ORDER TO BE ADMITTED INTO A MASTERCLASS.

IMPORTANT: Seats for the classes are only guaranteed if registered guests are at the class at least five minutes before start time. Empty seats will be given away 4 minutes before class starts.

Explore the different enticing flavor profiles of Single Malt from Scotland, US, and beyond with our blind single malt tasting with whisky expert Carolyn Sellar, who will take you on a journey into the world of Single Malt Whisky and put your knowledge to the test. Carolyn and Seattle local whisky expert Bryan McCoy will show you why Barley is king in the world of whisky. Heighten your senses as you sample a variety of single malt whiskies while talking amongst yourselves and describe what you’re seeing, smelling, and tasting.

Class Description: Enjoy bites & bourbon with Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select Bourbon as it is matched up with six different small bites! Attendees will receive kits that dive into the flavor wheel of Woodford Reserve and paired bites!

Speaker: Chloe Chanley
Bio: Chloe Chanley is the Brown Forman Full Portfolio Brand Ambassador based in Seattle, WA. She focuses on brand education, on-premise account relations, and event execution. As a Kentucky native, Chloe is no stranger to Bourbon as it played a pivotal role in her upbringing and continues to be a spirit after her own heart. When she’s not sipping a cocktail at one of the various Seattle bars, she is doing yoga, reading a fantasy novel, or adventuring to find the newest local cuisine.

Masterclass Bios

Bryan McCoy

Bryan McCoy has been exploring, researching and learning about whisky for the past 15 years. Bryan is an independent whisky ambassador. In that role, Bryan has led numerous tastings sharing his knowledge and passion with people who are both new to whisky as well as seasoned whisky enthusiasts. Bryan has visited over 50 distilleries in 4 countries; Scotland, Ireland, America and Canada. He has received formal training from the Edinburgh Whisky Academy. In addition to whisky, Bryan also enjoys making cocktails for family and friends as well as learning more about beer, wine and other non-whisky spirits.

Carolyn Sellar

  • Owner of Adventures in Whisky
  • Master of Scotch Whisky candidate from the Council of Whiskey Masters
  • National and Regional Judge of Whiskies

 Carolyn is the founder of Adventures in Whisky, which has produced hundreds of events in the Seattle greater area including some of the biggest whisky events in Washington. Along with whisky event production, Carolyn is also a consultant for branding and marketing for many establishments and whisky brands locally and nationally.

Carolyn is a national whiskey judge for San Francisco Whiskies of the World competition and the Head Judge for Seattle World Whiskey Day awards competition. 

Carolyn is an established whisky educator, and she has received designations from the Council of Whiskey Masters as Certified Scotch Professional, Certified Bourbon Professional, and Certified World Whisky Specialist. In 2022, Carolyn will be traveling to Inverness, Scotland as a candidate for certification of Master of Scotch Whisky. Carolyn is the Whisky Sommelier of Seattle Whisky Club, founder of the Seattle Whisky Society, and COO of Women Who Whiskey Seattle.

Outside of the whiskey world, Carolyn is a multi-award winning environmental and animal conservationist and when she can find some time to relax you will find her with a dram in hand and in the great outdoors with her two amazing rescue dogs named Peat and Barley.
